The end of the year brings back the same question: what to wear. Whether the evening is a formal family dinner or a party among friends, the choice matters. Two options stand out for their durability: the dinner jacket and the dark suit. Deciding between them is less a matter of taste than of reading the occasion correctly.
The dinner jacket, the most formal option
The dinner jacket is reserved for the most formal evenings. With its satin-faced lapels and matching trouser, it is a codified garment rather than simply a dark suit.
